British s.s. Asian on voyage from Hong Kong to Hongay was seized by Japanese warship on the 7th February and taken to lakong.

Asian was formerly Huahchong on Chinese register cnd was transferred to liong Kong register on the 5th February 1938 with with the concurrence of the Board of Trade (see Board of Trude telegram to Harbour Master Hong Kong RG 1023 of the 11th January 1938), Owners are Lingnam Steamship Company registered in Hong Kong, in

subject. Evidence regarding purchase and status of Company has

been supplied by the owners to the Japanese Consul General who has

promised to forward this to his Government.
